Patrocinado por la Fundación Chana y Samuel Levis, se capacitó a 20 profesores, junto con 10 artistas locales durante la Academia de Verano de la Universidad del Este. La implementación del programa se llevó a cabo en cinco escuelas diferentes durante el año académico y como complemento del programa de estudios de cada escuela.
Two professional artists from the Cultural Agents Initiative led a one week Paper Picker Press workshop for the Fundacion Chana and Samuel Lewis at the Universidad del Este in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico during the “Academia de Verano” on June 8th to June 13th, 2009. Each day included four hours of training from 8:00 – 12:00 am.
The participants were 20 teachers from four different local schools and 10 local artists in different art modalities. The objective was to create collaborations between teachers and artists.
After the training, the participants (teachers and artists) were facilitators during the Paper Picker Press (La Cartonera) ten-week implementation program in their schools.
