A team of Pre-Texts trainers facilitated a workshop for education leaders with Dr. Humberto Maturana, in collaboration with Fundación Matríztica and Fundación Santiago Creativo.
Santiago Creativo reached an agreement with the Chilean Association of Cultural Managers and with Cultura Cerebro, the Culture Content Dissemination Program, to offer the workshop to Chilean professionals who lead transformative cultural initiatives.The workshop was led by Doris Sommer who introduced acting techniques that allowed for the sharing and integrating of experiences in the group of participants.
From Sagan’s text, the group was motivated to identify questions and answers that derived from the story itself, as well as stimulate creativity so that through body language and other techniques, some passages of the text could become more understandable. Likewise, space was given to the imagination to create proposals for book covers for the text, and personal experiences were shared on what was done. The group succeeded in capturing the methodology and the strength of a better reading comprehension to develop strategies to modify or transform sociocultural aspects of political, economic and socio-cultural relevance.
