Michelle Sirios (Grade 4) and Caroline Kiddie (Grade 3) facilitated a Pre-Texts workshop for their students (20-25 students in each class) in Perry School and Adams School in Boston, Massachusetts. Suzanne Paszkowski participated in the sessions and wrote a Full Report about this wonderful experience!
Pre-Texts Activities of All Shapes and sizes call on participants to return to that humanistic principle of paying attention to things in The World and To One’s Experiences of the World, as well as Trying to Communicate Them To Others Using Various Techniques (Words, Gestures, Designs, Rhythms, etc.).
Asking for Creative Response To Texts Changes The Way One Reads Or Listens or Pays Attention; It is not about finding the right Answer, But instead About Using The Text The Material for Creating Something New.
