In this class, texts become prompts for art-making. By inspiring painting, dance, theater, music, sculpture, photography, etc. texts lead to profound and daring interpretations. Latin American classics that might otherwise seem difficult become raw material for creativity as students stretch their command of Spanish. Students learn that the arts interpret and explore meaning and that theory is a user-friendly afterthought.
