In June 2008, with financial support from the World Fund, the Cultural Agents Initiative held a week-long training at the Mano Amiga School in Chalco, Mexico. Participants were selected among teachers and artists in the community, and included six Mano Amiga teachers, four local artists, and two Mano Amiga academic coordinators. Special guests included Mano Amiga de Chalco high school students and alumni, and representatives from the Centro Nacional de las Artes (CENART) and the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (CONACULTA).
Following the trainings, a 10-week implementation program was carried out with weekly monitoring Skype meetings between Cultural Agents, artists, teachers, school staff and officials from the World Fund.
PRE-Texts was given name Amiga Cartonera for Chalco and today is one of the World Fund training programs for teachers and principals. Under the leadership of School Director Lic. Lilia Garelly, the program is in its 5th consecutive year of success.
